Thanks to the hard work of a dedicated group of volunteers, Franklin Concerts on the Common is now entering its 26th season. The summertime evening concerts are funded through the generosity of the Franklin Cultural Council (funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council), Dean Bank, local businesses, patrons and residents. The free concerts offer a wide variety of musical groups for young and old alike.
The fun for the whole family generally takes place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights, with children’s programs as an introduction to the bigger acts, at 6 p.m. where noted. In the event of rain, concerts are held at St. Mary’s/Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter School across the street from the common.
This year’s lineup includes:
July 12
The Leeds Band, with children’s performer Elaine Kessler opening at 6 p.m.
