Democrats to Hold Debate for Candidates for Congressional District 4

Issue Date:
July, 2020
Article Body:

The Democratic Town Committees of Bellingham, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Medway, Milford, and Norfolk will co-host a debate among the Democratic candidates for Congressional District 4 (currently held by Kennedy). The debate will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29.   To ensure the safety of candidates and organizers, the candidates will participate remotely.

Nine candidates -- Jake Auchincloss, Dave Cavell, Becky Grossman, Alan Khazei, Ihssane Leckey, Natalia Linos, Jesse Mermell, Ben Sigel, and Chris Zannetos -- met the signature requirements and will appear on the ballot for the state primary September 1. All nine candidates have confirmed attendance in this event.
"It’s important for voters to get to know the candidates," said Milford DTC chair Bryan Cole. "And we also think it's important that the candidates get a chance to hear from the voters in this part of the district and learn about their specific needs."

The event will be televised by Milford TV and shared to cable access networks in neighboring towns. The candidates will be split into two groups. Each group will get one hour of air time, including opening and closing statements, along with responses to a number of questions.  Voters are encouraged to submit questions ahead of time by emailing [email protected].
