Comics Club February 2 from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Explore comics by reading a comic book and talking about the story and the artwork. Make your own comics, too. For children in Grades 1 through 3.
Why Not YA? Book Club February 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Read and discuss the latest and greatest in young adult literature. February’s book will be available at the circulation desk. For ages 13 to adult.
Paws to Read February 9 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Meet special therapy dogs while practicing your reading. Each child is given a 15-minute time slot with a dog. Children must be able to read themselves. Sponsored by Therapy Dogs International. For children in Grades 2 through 6.
Valentine’s Day Tea Party February 14 from 4 to 5 p.m. Join Cinderella as she hosts a tea party in the library. Make a valentine and a paper flower bouquet, and enjoy refreshments. Children are encouraged to dress up. Spaces are limited. $5 fee benefits the Junior and Teen Library Council. For ages 4 to 8 with caregiver.
Anti-Valentine’s Day Party February 15 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Watch The Corpse Bride, make a voodoo pincushion doll, and enjoy some snacks. Bring a playlist to share with the group. For Grades 7 through 12.
Art Adventures February 27 from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Children will learn about an artist or style in this interactive visual arts program, and then can create a piece based on what they have learned. No special artistic ability is necessary. For children in Grades K through 4.
