The Franklin Elks Lodge No. 2136 in Franklin, MA donated a 40 x 25-foot American Flag to the Franklin Fire Department at their Lodge on August 27 2018. Firefighters and Members were in attendance to witness this presentation. Katie Morvan, Exalted Ruler gave this brief presentation, thanking Michele Walker (Lodge Secretary) and Frank Liotta (Lodge Chaplain) for initiating this gift to our Community. Firefighter Chris Schmall accepted the donation on behalf of the Department and town.
Our town, as well as the Veterans Services Committee were in desperate need of their own flag, so the Elks Lodge got to work to find a solution.
This project was made possible by a grant from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
