It’s a holiday tradition, now, the Annual Holliston Business Association Holiday Stroll. This year, Holliston will raise the holiday spirit on Saturday, November 24th, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Member businesses and lots of local organizations will work together to make the season merry, with special treats and performances all day long.
As usual, and thanks to generous sponsors, two trolleys will make transport strollers to various spots downtown. At Fiske’s General Store, come meet Spider-Man or Wolverine, as well as two characters played by Starlight Princesses.
At Upper Town Hall, activities will take place all afternoon. DJ Mike Rutkowski will entertain with music during the quiet times, and the Heavey Quinn Dance Studio will perform Irish step dancing at 12:45 p.m. followed by Magician Fran Flynn with a show to delight at 1:30 p.m. Vesta Real Estate will also be offering cookie decorating in Upper Town Hall, Singer Erica Leigh will perform, the Holliston Girl Scouts will host a giving tree, and the Holliston LEO’s group will have a table. Food will be available from Holliston Superette, the Holliston Lions (chili), and Gaetano’s Bakery.
As for the jolly old elf, Santa will come down from the North Pole to make an appearance. The Holliston Fire Department, following their open house from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., where you can climb on fire apparatus or even meet Holliston Police Department’s new canine officer, will transport St. Nick to the parking lot behind Holliston Public Library (where there will be activities from 12-4), where, at 3 p.m., Santa will read Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Don’t forget to stop by the town green and pet a few alpacas from Harvard Alpaca Ranch, and while you’re there, buy a wreath from the Holliston Cub Scouts or stop by the Holliston Girl Scouts table. .
If you’re hungry, don’t forget to stop by the Candy Cottage. The Holliston Grill, Central Café & Convenience, Coffee Haven or Table Top Pizza. Other businesses participating for the day include Janine’s Jewelry, Outlook Hair Salon, the Holliston Superette, Gracefully Restored, Kamala Boutique, Holliston Jewelers, Holliston Antiques, Realty Executives, Gilfoy Art & Framing, Holliston True Value, Cerridwen’s Keep, The Grapevine, Tough Love Massage, Soul Spirit Studio, Depot Package Store, Debra’s Flowers and Arcadian Farms.
At about 5:30 p.m., you’ll want to join the candlelit procession heading down Central Street to Blair Square, where the Holliston Boy Scouts will be onhand making s’mores. A treelighting –which will include lights paid for by contributions by Holliston residents, groups and business, will take place at 5:45.
