The 2017 Annual Spring Town Meeting for the Town of Millis will take place on June 5, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at Millis Middle/High School auditorium, 245 Plain Street, Millis. This Spring’s Town Warrant, available under Current Information at the Millis Town Website, www.millis.org, contains 37 warrant articles, including Article 13, in which Millis voters will decide whether to fund for a replacement facility for the Clyde Brown Elementary School, a project for which the town may be eligible for a school construction grant from the MSBA. The ballot funding vote passed for the estimated $51.8 million project, $21-21.6 million of which will likely be reimbursable to the town by the MSBA, which has approved the project. For more information on the project, visit millisschoolproject.org.
In addition to a number of funding articles, which include school repair, new computers, sewer project continuations, a Yukon Cargo Trailer for the DPW, and more, is Article 37, a submitted by Citizen’s Petition, in which the town of Millis will decide on whether to support “An Act to Protect the Civil Rights and Safety of All Massachusetts Residents,” also known as the Massachusetts Safe Communities Act.
