Did someone say canine bath time? You read that right! Community car washes are a popular fundraising activity in Norwood throughout the spring and summer, but on June 10, Fido (and the vehicle he/she is traveling in) can also leave the Norwood municipal parking lot shiny and clean! The Bay State Animal Cooperative (BCAC) is holding their 7th Annual Dog/Car Wash, where their volunteers will not only clean your car for a donation, but dogs leave with a shinier coat from the fun day's event!
The popular event will be held Sunday, June 10, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Norwood Municipal Parking Lot. Volunteers from the BSAC spend the day washing dogs and cars and trucks to benefit their feline rescue group.
There will also be a local, licensed veterinarian offering rabies vaccinations for only $10 and microchipping for $20: cats only, 10-10:30 a.m.; dogs only, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Donations of dry and wet cat food will be graciously accepted.
The BSAC is a Norwood-based non-profit, with a no kill philosophy that provides human resources for rescuing, companion, stray and relinquished felines. They also operate an adoption program and feed, protect and often rescue cats in feral colonies. The organization is run completely by generous volunteers and is funded by donations and events, such as the car/dog wash, to raise money for food and supplies.
