Library Hours
The Franklin Public Library will be closed Sunday, January 1 and Monday, January 2 for New Year’s Day, and Monday, January 16 for Martin Luther King Day. The library’s regular hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday & Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog! Bring your favorite book or pick out one of ours to read. The dogs and their handlers are from Pawsitive Touch and are trained for one-on-one sessions. For students in grades 2 and up. Register at desk.
Thursdays
Story and Craft. 10:30 a.m. For ages, 3—6 years of age.

Family Coloring Book Club, 4 p.m.
Parents, guardians, and kids of all ages are welcome to drop in and color together, every Thursday from 4-5 p.m.. We’ll have coloring pages and colored pencils and crayons available!

Celebrate A.A. Milne’s birthday with a Winnie the Pooh event! Our program room will turn into the Hundred Acre Wood for our celebration! We’ll have snacks, crafts, and games.

Teen Advisory Board Meetings, Second Wednesday of the Month, January 11, 6:30 p.m.
Share your voice and your vision for the library, and earn volunteer hours all at the same time! TAB members are crucial in helping plan awesome teen events and make sure our library collection has what Franklin’s teens are looking for! This will be a big year for us as we plan for our epic new space in the renovated building!
Pizza Showdown, Friday, January 20th, 3-4 p.m.
Our New Youth Services Librarian, Caleigh, is new to town and is curious about where is the best place to get pizza in Franklin. Come to the program room from 3-4p.m. for an epic pizza showdown! Try out a slice from each place and vote on Franklin’s best pizza!
Teen Lounge! Fourth Wednesday of the Month, January 25th, 3:30-6 p.m.
Come hang out in our teen-only space after school! We’ll have snacks, crafts, and a movie playing in the background! You can hang with friends, play board games, do your homework, and just enjoy!

Everyone needs a little help and encouragement to jump-start the research, especially on hard-to-solve cases. Marian will present 10 brick wall tips that will help every genealogist look at their research challenges in a fresh way. This presentation, by Marian Pierre-Louis of Fieldstone Historic Research, will bring you the momentum you need to get your family history research back on track.
