How would you like a chance to win up to $1,000 or $250 and support local charities at the same time? Buy one of the Norfolk Lion’s charity golf balls for $10. This year up to 250 numbered golf balls will be sold and two prizes will be awarded.
Between 2:30 and 3 p.m. on Norfolk Community Day, all numbered balls will be placed in a container and dropped 40 feet from the top of the Norfolk Fire Department ladder truck. The balls will fall onto a 100-foot circle painted on the grass with a pin in the center. The ball closest to the pin wins $1,000 and the second closest ball wins $250. The remaining $1,250 will be donated to Norfolk charities to be named at a later date.
In the unlikely event of a tie, the winnings will be split. The Norfolk Police Department will monitor judging. You do not need to be present to win.
With only 250 balls sold, your odds of winning are fantastic, so hurry and get one or more. The Norfolk Lions will be selling golf balls at the Norfolk Recycling/Transfer Station on Saturday, May 20 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will also be on sale at Community Day, if not already sold out.
You must be 18 or older to participate. Norfolk Lions Club members and their families are eligible to enter.
