Wrentham Cultural Council event continues to celebrate art in many forms
Arts on the Common, the premier annual cultural event in the town of Wrentham, takes place on Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sponsored by the Wrentham Cultural Council, this is the fourth year the organization will spearhead the local celebration of the arts in its many forms.
The event takes place on the historic and picturesque Wrentham town common, located at the intersection of Routes 140 and 1A.  Designed to appeal to all ages, Arts on the Common features handcrafted fine arts and crafts, music, performance art, and interactive activities.
More than thirty Council-selected artists from the New England area will showcase their work for sale in a variety of media, including watercolor, oil, clay, wood, fiber and paper.
In addition to art, the exhibition features a varied program of music by accomplished New England-based musicians, performances by local dance studios, and a magician.
The entertainment includes: DJ Bill Jones (9 to 10 a.m.); Groovy Situation (10 to 11 a.m.); Showcase Dance Productions (11 a.m. to noon); Mike and Louie (noon to 1 p.m.); William Joseph Jordan (1 to 2 p.m.); Dance and Beyond (2 to 3 p.m.); and BCountry Blues (3 to 4 p.m.). Plus, Todd the Magician will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Arts on the Common also offers opportunities for visitor participation. For instance, children and adults alike are invited to add their creative touch to a collaborative display of sidewalk art in “Chalk the Walk.”
This is a wonderful opportunity for area families to become acquainted with some of the talented artists in the area, and for all to spend a day enjoying varied entertainment on the beautiful Wrentham common. We hope you join us!
