Public Health Nurses Collecting Supplies for Veterans

The Wrentham Public Health Nurses will be collecting supplies for homeless veterans and others in need as part of Operation Stand Down, to be held on September 8 at Government Center Plaza in Boston.
The following supplies are needed: nail clippers and files, white cotton socks, baby powder, lotions, soap (liquid and bar), Dr. Scholl bunion cushions, Zip-lock quart size baggies, nail brushes with handles, travel size toiletries, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shoe insert pads, and anti-fungal powder.

Collection boxes are located in the Public Health Nurses Office in Town Hall, the Wrentham Senior Center, and the Fiske Public Library. Residents can call 508-384-5485 for pickup of items if unable to bring supplies to one of the locations. The final day for donations is Wednesday, August 10.
Operation Stand Down is an effort started by the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide services to homeless veterans. The events include health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits counseling, and referrals to other services.
