Library Hours
The library’s regular hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday & Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library will be closed Sunday, September 3 and Monday, September 4 for Labor Day. Typically, Sunday hours resume after Labor Day. However, due to the upcoming move back to 118 Main Street, the library is only scheduled to be open Sunday, September 10, 1:30-5 p.m. at this time.
Franklin Public Library Expansion and Renovation Project Update
The library renovation and expansion project is finally nearing its conclusion! We are expecting to remain open at the temporary 25 Kenwood Circle location until at least the middle of September. Exact dates are not available at this time. More details will follow regarding the library’s hours, closure, and reopening once they become available. Please check the Franklin Library’s website, Twitter and Facebook page, as well as the local media, for the most current updates.
Once the library closes to the public at 25 Kenwood Circle, the Franklin Library will be potentially closed up to four weeks to pack, move, unpack and reorganize all of its materials. During this time, all Franklin Library holdings, including museum passes, will be unavailable to be checked out by the public. Starting in September, if you place holds on library items and expect to pick them up before mid-October, be sure to change the pickup location from Franklin to the next most convenient Minuteman Network Library (i.e. Medway or Millis). Due dates on library materials checked out in September will be extended to the end of October. Once the library reopens in mid-October, fines will be waived for the first two weeks.
While the library is closed, you may continue to return items at 25 Kenwood Circle for as long as the blue return bins are available.
Important Notice Regarding Library Book Sale Donations
Due to the Franklin Public Library’s upcoming relocation to 118 Main Street, the library will no longer be able to accept any donations of books, music or movies at 25 Kenwood Circle after August 11. If you have donations after this date, please either hold on to them or bring your donations to libraries in neighboring towns. The Franklin Library will need the space to prepare for the impending move back to 118 Main Street. Please hold on to your donations until November when we have the next Book Sale. Thank you for your understanding and support!
