Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 101 Summer St., Route 126, Holliston, announces its schedule of events for the Christmas Season.
For over 55 years, the Xaverian Missionaries at Fatima Shrine have observed the Christmas Season with a beautiful display of lights, framed light structures, and inspiring message panels. This year will continue the tradition of celebrating the Good News of Christ’s birth with lights on well over 50% of the Shrine’s 30 acres.
Beginning with Sat. Dec. 1 and continuing until Thurs. Dec. 27, the Lights of Fatima Shrine with background Christmas music will be on from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. every night unless there is heavy rain or sleet. During this time, hot chocolate will be served in Xavier Hall.
The Shrine’s Gift Shop will be open for extended hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the Festival of Lights. Many unique and spiritual Christmas items perfect for gift-giving are available at this time.
The 25th annual “Peace on Earth” Pasta Supper will be held in Xavier Hall on Saturday Dec. 8th beginning at 5 p.m. A visit from Santa and “raffles galore” highlight this pasta and meatball supper with bread, salad and dessert. Tickets are $8 per adult and $4 per child under ten and may be purchased after the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass (at noon) in the chapel or at the door. Enjoy the Festival of Lights after dinner.
A traditional Christmas Concert will be held on Sunday Dec. 9th beginning at 3 p.m. The Saint Cecilia’s Choir from Ashland, under the direction of Lelia Tenreyro-Viana, will again delight music lovers and ignite the true Christmas spirit. All are invited to this free concert. Following the concert, there will be a procession in which the statue of the Infant Jesus will be placed in the manger in the Grotto on Shrine grounds.
All are welcome to come to any of these events to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
