Decisions at Every Turn (DAET) Coalition is ushering in the new year by announcing the availability of new prevention resources for Ashland parents and other caring adults.
One of DAET’s goals is to support a healthy community by providing education on the prevention of youth substance use and the promotion of positive behavioral health. The coalition strives to do this by offering a range of resources that help raise awareness, provide skills, expand knowledge and encourage conversations about youth substance use.

Public Service
Announcements
DAET has released its first video in the DAET PSA series based on the Parenting for Prevention tip sheets. Coalition Director Kristin French and Coalition Coordinator Saumya Sankhavaram walk parents and adults through tips and conversation starters based on the tip sheet, “How to Talk to Your Kids at Any Age about Alcohol, Other Drugs and Making Good Decisions.”
Ashland High School student Maky Kotob created a PSA, as his Eagle Scout project, for teens on the risks of vaping. This vignette-style PSA addresses common misperceptions about the health risks of vaping using common scenarios and fact-based research to educate teens and their parents about the potential dangers of vaping on youth health.
Both PSAs can be viewed at on the website, www. AshlandDecisions.org.
